Frequently Asked Questions
Where do the funds raised go?
The Festival of Trees is a major fundraiser for Kawartha Settlers’ Village. The funds raised go towards the preservation of the heritage houses and buildings, and to the educational programs (day camps and school visits).
How can I win a decorated item or prize?
Sponsored items are either designated as a raffle item, a silent auction item, or live auction item. For a chance to win a raffle prize, tickets must be filled out and entered into the bucket of the item of your choice. Tickets are for sale in most of the buildings and are $5.00 for 6 tickets. Tip: Come with preprinted mailing labels to avoid having to fill in each raffle ticket. Silent Auction items are won by the person with the highest bid. Bid sheets are located beside the item and bids must be in increments of $5. The Live Auction takes place on the Saturday night of the Festival at 7pm.
How do I know if I have won?
Raffle winners are drawn at 3:30pm on Sunday afternoon. Winning bids are circled and the bid sheets are also removed. Volunteers call the winners on Sunday night. All winners are asked to come to the Henderson House to pick up their item on Monday morning. A list of winners will be published in the newspaper as well as on-line.
